Terms of use
Last updated October 22, 2026
1. Who we are
TheCompanyIndex.com is run by Obsidian UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Herford, Germany (see the legal notice). These terms apply to everyone who uses the site and to every account.
2. Accounts
Use your real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if someone else may have used your account. One person per account.
3. Entries
By adding a company you confirm that you may act for it and that what you write is true. You allow us to publish the entry, to shorten it and fix typos, and to show it in lists, search and badges for as long as it is in the Index. We review every entry under our guidelines and may decline it or take it down later, with a reason. One entry per company. You may ask us to remove your entry at any time.
4. The members' board
The board is for working with other founders: guest posts, intros and partnerships. Use the contacts you find there only for that, never for bulk mail. We remove members who misuse it.
5. Badges
Companies in the Index may show its badge on their own sites, with or without nofollow. A badge is never a condition for being listed. Please do not change the badge to say something it does not.
6. Paid services
Fast-track buys a review within one working day; the review follows the same guidelines. Featured buys a marked, sponsored spot for the time bought. Neither buys a link. The price and what it includes are shown before you pay. If we decline a fast-track entry, we refund it.
7. Liability
We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, and for harm to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only where we break a duty that is essential to the service, and then only for the harm that is typical and foreseeable. The companies in the Index answer for their own websites and offers.
8. Law
German law applies. If you are a merchant, the courts of Herford, Germany, have jurisdiction. Consumers keep the protection of the law of the country they live in.
9. Changes
We may change these terms for the future. We tell account holders about changes that matter before they apply.
